2mm Response

This past week in Spanish we watched a movie that related us as Americans and our education to other countries education. There are 2 million minutes that pass by while you are in high school. The movie really caught my attention, because I thought America had a tough education system and strict parents, but other countries study and go to school all day long, therfor they learn more. Other countries teach students many things that we dont learn here in the United States, but I look at it as its a different country right? So therefor the United States education system will be different than other countries. I think that us as Americans are prepared for real life after graduating from High School due to the standards that we have to pass. We go to school 35 hours a week and that is plenty of time for us to learn what we need to learn that day. This leaves us enough time to get out of school and go home and work and study. Other students in other countries dont work, they just got to school from sun up to sun down and study all day long. I think that is not the right way to teach students the things they need to know. The move 2 million minutes showed me how other countries are different from how we are, and it showed me to appreciate how our country does things.

When I grow up......

When i grow up and graduate from high school, i plan on joing the U.S. Coast Gaurd Reserve and work for the Coast Gaurd. When i get out of basic training I plan on going back to college and get my Contracting Licenses and building homes. I still have a lot of dreams and may change my mind from joining the Coast Gaurd, but so far that is what i am leaning to because i want to live at the beach and that is a job i can have at the beach with great benefits and pay. I am looking forward to graduation so i can get a job and join the real world.

"All about me"

My name is Cameron Wilks, and i am a senior at Midway High School. I am 17 years old, and turn 18 in March. I am from Clinton, North Carolina and have always lived here. I have one older brother name Jonathan which is 20 years old, and a is attending SCC at this time but will be a rising junior at N.C. State in the fall majoring in Agriculture Education. I have several different pets which consist of dogs and cats which i enjoy spending time with. I enjoy riding motorcycles, just hanging out, going to the beach, surfing, and much more. I am a huge N.C. State fan and love watching football. If you have anymore questions just blog me.
